PRIVACY POLICY
KOBP FITNESS LLC · LAST UPDATED: APRIL 2026 — REV 8 · EFFECTIVE: MARCH 2026
KOBP Fitness LLC ("KOBP Fitness," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at kobpfitness.com and the web application located at app.kobpfitness.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Email address — if you submit your email through our waitlist or early access form
- Name and bodyweight — if you enter this information in the app to set up your profile
- Training data — lift names, weights, sets, reps, and session notes that you log in the app
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — basic analytics through Cloudflare, including page views, geographic region, and device type. This data is aggregated and not linked to individual users.
- We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics scripts.
2. How Your Training Data Is Stored
All accounts: Your training data is automatically backed up to secure cloud storage when you create an account. Cloud sync is included free with every account — no subscription required.
Cloud Backup (all accounts): Your training data is automatically encrypted in transit and stored on Cloudflare's KV infrastructure under your account ID. This is included free with every account and enables you to restore your data on any device by signing in. You can delete your cloud data at any time from the app settings.
Your data is stored server-side and can be restored on any device by signing into your account. Data is retained for 13 months from your last sync and automatically renewed on each activity. You may request deletion at any time.
3. Coach AI Feature — Third-Party AI Data Sharing
Third-party AI disclosure: Coach AI sends your training data to Anthropic, PBC. You will be shown a clear disclosure and asked to confirm before any data is transmitted.
The Coach AI feature sends your training data to Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"), located at anthropic.com, via their Claude API to generate personalized training analysis. Before your first use, the app displays a clear notice identifying what data is sent and who it is sent to, and requires your explicit confirmation to proceed.
Exactly what data is sent to Anthropic:
- Lift names (e.g. "Bench Press", "Back Squat")
- Weights, sets, reps, and set types for each logged session
- Session dates and session notes you have entered
- Total session count and body weight (if logged)
- Apple Health recovery data, if you have granted Apple Health permission (see section 3e below)
What is NOT sent to Anthropic:
- Your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information
- Payment information or subscription details
- Device identifiers or location data
How this data is used:
- Anthropic processes this data solely to generate your training analysis response
- Training data sent to Anthropic is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy
- Anthropic provides equivalent privacy protections as described in their privacy policy and API usage terms
- Coach AI analysis results are cached on your device and in our servers for up to 24 hours to reduce repeat API calls
- By using the Coach AI feature, you consent to this data being transmitted to Anthropic for the purpose of generating your analysis
3b. Import AI Feature — Third-Party AI Data Sharing
Third-party AI disclosure: Import AI sends the content you provide to Anthropic, PBC for processing. You will be shown a clear disclosure and asked to confirm before any data is transmitted.
The Import AI feature sends the content you explicitly provide to Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"), located at anthropic.com, via their Claude API to extract and convert your training data. Before your first use, the app displays a clear notice identifying what data is sent and who it is sent to, and requires your explicit confirmation to proceed.
Exactly what data is sent to Anthropic:
- The raw text you paste (e.g. a CSV export, copied notes, or data from another app)
- OR a base64-encoded image or screenshot you upload for processing
- The file type/format of the content provided
What is NOT sent to Anthropic:
- Your name, email address, or KOBP account details
- Any data beyond what you explicitly provide for the import
- Payment information or subscription details
How this data is used:
- Anthropic processes the content solely to extract workout entries and return structured training data
- Data sent to Anthropic is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy
- Anthropic provides equivalent privacy protections as described in their privacy policy and API usage terms
- Import results are cached on your device for 30 days to avoid duplicate API charges for the same content
- Import AI is limited to 5 lifetime uses per account
- By using the Import AI feature, you consent to your provided content being transmitted to Anthropic for extraction
3c. Quick Log Feature — Third-Party AI Data Sharing
Third-party AI disclosure: Quick Log sends the text you type or dictate to Anthropic, PBC for processing. You will be shown a clear disclosure before first use.
The Quick Log feature allows you to log workout sessions using natural language text or voice dictation. The text you enter is sent to Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"), located at anthropic.com, via their Claude API to extract and structure your workout data.
Exactly what data is sent to Anthropic:
- The raw text you type or dictate describing your workout session
- A list of your known lift names (to help match lift names accurately)
- Today's date (to correctly assign the session date)
What is NOT sent to Anthropic:
- Your name, email address, or account details
- Your full training history or previously logged data
- Any data beyond what you explicitly type or speak for that session
How this data is used:
- Anthropic processes the text solely to extract and return structured workout entries
- Voice input is handled entirely by your device's built-in keyboard dictation — audio is never sent to KOBP Fitness or Anthropic
- Only the resulting text transcript is sent for parsing
- Data sent to Anthropic is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy
- Quick Log is available to Premium subscribers and usage is unlimited
3d. Global Leaderboard Feature
Opt-in only: Your training data is only shared on the global leaderboard if you explicitly choose to opt in. This is never automatic.
KOBP Fitness includes an optional global leaderboard feature. If you choose to opt in:
- Your display name, bodyweight, and top set data (weight, reps, date) for each lift you have logged will be stored on our servers via Cloudflare KV storage
- This data will be visible to other KOBP Fitness users on the global leaderboard
- Your data is stored for a maximum of 90 days from your last activity and auto-expires if you become inactive
- You can opt out at any time from within the app — your data will be deleted from our servers immediately upon opting out
- Deleting a lifter from the app automatically removes them from the global leaderboard
If you do not opt in, none of your training data is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers for leaderboard purposes. All data remains local to your device.
3e. Cloud Backup (All Accounts)
All account holders receive automatic cloud backup of their training data. When you create an account:
- Your training data — lifters, workout log, bodyweight history, and leaderboard opt-in preferences — is transmitted to and stored on Cloudflare KV servers
- Data is stored under your account ID and linked to your email address
- Data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS
- Data is retained for 13 months from your last sync and auto-expires after that period
- You can delete your cloud data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Cloud Data)
- If you delete your account, your cloud data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Sync is rate-limited to 60 pushes per hour to prevent abuse
3f. Apple Health Integration — HealthKit Data
Opt-in only: Apple Health data is only accessed if you explicitly grant permission when prompted. If you decline, Coach AI functions normally using your logged training data only.
The Coach AI feature can optionally read Apple Health data to enhance training analysis with recovery and intensity context. This is entirely opt-in and requires your explicit permission via Apple's standard HealthKit permission sheet.
Exactly what data is read from Apple Health:
- Resting heart rate — 7-day average and trend direction
- Heart rate variability (HRV) — 7-day average and trend direction
- Sleep analysis — 7-day average duration
- VO2 Max — most recent recorded value
- Active energy burned — 30-day total
- Body mass — most recent recorded value
- Strength training workout sessions (last 30 days) — duration, active calories burned, and average heart rate. Only sessions recorded as Traditional Strength Training, Functional Strength Training, Core Training, Cross Training, HIIT, or Mixed Cardio are included. Running, cycling, yoga, walking, and all other activity types are excluded entirely.
What is NOT read from Apple Health:
- Steps, cycling, running, or any non-strength workout data
- Blood oxygen, ECG, or reproductive health data
- Location, GPS routes, or movement data
- Any data type beyond the specific types listed above
How this data is used:
- Apple Health data is included in the Coach AI analysis request sent to Anthropic, PBC, solely to provide recovery and training intensity context
- Raw Apple Health data is never stored on our servers — it is read from your device, used ephemerally within the analysis request, and discarded immediately. It is not written to our database, logs, or any persistent storage
- Apple Health data is not shared with any third party other than Anthropic as part of the Coach AI analysis, and is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy
- KOBP Fitness never writes any data to Apple Health
- You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → KOBP Strength
- You can reset your in-app consent preference at any time in app Settings
4. How We Use Your Information
- Email address — used solely to send product updates, launch announcements, and information you requested when signing up for our waitlist. We will never sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Usage analytics — used to understand how people use the Service and improve it. This data is aggregated and anonymous.
- Training data — processed locally on your device. Only transmitted to Anthropic when you explicitly use the Coach AI, Import AI, or Quick Log features.
- Apple Health data — read from your device only when you use Coach AI with Health access granted. Never stored server-side. See section 3f for full details.
5. Email Communications
If you provide your email address through our waitlist or early access form, you will receive product updates and launch announcements from KOBP Fitness. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us at hello@kobpfitness.com.
We use Google Forms and Google Sheets to collect and store waitlist email addresses. Your email address is stored on Google's servers and subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use this information for any purpose other than sending product updates you requested.
6. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Anthropic — training data summaries when you use the Coach AI, Import AI, or Quick Log features, as described above. If you have granted Apple Health permission, Apple Health recovery data (resting heart rate, HRV, sleep, VO2 Max, strength workout sessions) is also included in Coach AI transmissions. This data is used ephemerally by Anthropic for analysis only and is never stored on our servers.
- Google Forms / Google Sheets — email address if you sign up for our waitlist, stored on Google's servers
- Cloudflare — aggregated analytics data, leaderboard data (if opted in), and Cloud Sync training data are all stored in Cloudflare KV infrastructure. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority
7. Data Retention
- Training data — automatically backed up to Cloudflare KV servers for up to 13 months from your last activity. Renewed on each sync. You can delete it manually at any time from app settings or by contacting hello@kobpfitness.com.
- Global leaderboard data — if opted in, stored on Cloudflare KV servers for up to 90 days from last activity. Deleted immediately upon opting out or deleting the lifter.
- Apple Health data — never retained. Used ephemerally during Coach AI analysis only.
- Email address — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Analytics data — aggregated, retained per Cloudflare's standard data retention policies
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
- Apple Health access — revoke at any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → KOBP Strength
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@kobpfitness.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. Your training data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. Apple Health data never leaves your device to our servers. Email communications are handled through established providers with industry-standard security practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
